What We’re All About

Our are dedicated to preserving the historical record – the artifacts, publications, personal papers, scripts, photographs, TV and radio programming and other matter – and helping to write the extraordinary story of electronic media’s first century and light the way into its second. We do this in several ways.

  • We support and promote the Library of American Broadcasting at the University of Maryland and seek to expand its unmatched collections.

  • We salute the leading business innovators, journalists, performers, and producers over the past century (Giants of Broadcasting & Electronic Arts),

  • We honor organizations and individuals for their preservation efforts (The Insight Award).

  • In conjunction with the Broadcast Education Association, we recognize excellence in scholarship. (The Liebner Cooper Grant, The Broadcast Historian Award).

  • We identify and curate all sources of electronic media history we can find to facilitate research.

  • We produce short-form programming about historical preservation and the media arts.

  • We raise funds through donations and our annual Giants luncheon.
